Sunday, October 9th

Hey Parents!

I am praying for all of you this week in regards to our lovely weather! Praying for safety for you and your family as well as loved ones you may have in the path of this hurricane! I know this is Florida and we have very unpredictable patterns but please use wisdom and prepare as necessary! I love you all too much!

Due to some technical difficulties, we will be switching email systems within the next few weeks. If there comes a week where you do not receive this email, PLEASE let me know! If you do not want to be kept on the new system to receive the emails, let me know that as well! Thanks for your patience as we try to better our communication to you!

SUGAR RUSH: October 26th we will have a HUB night filled with games, costume contests and, of course, lots of sugar! Be sure to help your student decide on a costume for this night! It usually gets pretty crazy!

HIGH SCHOOL RETREAT: November 11-12, 2016 will be our High School Retreat. Students from all campuses, in 9th - 12th grades will meet at the Lakeland Campus at 7:30am on Friday morning the 11th (school is out that day so our 2016 retreat is almost a full day longer than last year!) We will be staying at Country Inn and Suites in Cocoa Beach and return to the church at 10pm on Saturday evening the 12th.

This is a leadership/training weekend for our High School Students where we pray they will grow closer to God and live it out in their schools.

**Be sure you have a Medical Waiver on file before this event! Here is the link for the waiver.

Price for this event is set at $75 through October 30th and will increase to $85 after that date. Registration is now available at the Warehouse desk! Signs are up with the info and the registration cards and payment can be received by myself, Chris or Beth at the beginning and end of each of our youth services on Wednesdays and Sundays or with me in the office any weekday.

 One Great Task

2 Timothy 2:1-10

THE POINT: Everyone is meant to share the gospel.

* Who has been faithful in teaching you the truth about God and the gospel?

* What excuses do we make for not sharing Christ?

* What are your hopes and dreams for sharing the gospel?

Discuss the following quote:

"Christian disciples are sent men and women-sent out in the same work of world evangelism to which the Lord was sent, and for which he gave his life."

LIVE IT OUT: Your student has been encouraged to take practical steps to take his or her faith and Live It Out in the Personal Study Guide.

Here are some ways you can encourage your students to live out their faith with Christ personally, in community, and in their culture:

  • CHRIST: Help your student to be bold in his or her faith by praying with him or her for courage to share the gospel. Find additional courage and strength in 2 Timothy 2:8-10.
  • COMMUNITY: Encourage your student to find a younger friend that he or she may begin to mentor in their walk with Christ.
  • CULTURE: Your student may be looked down upon because of his or her age. Instead, encourage your student to be bold in speech, actions, faith, love, and purity-just as Paul encouraged Timothy- and allow God to use him or her in a big way.
