At the end of this storm, there is a lot to be thankful for. Why wait until Thanksgiving to be thankful for what God has blessed us with!

SUNDAY NIGHT GIRLS BIBLE STUDIES |On September 24th we began our middle school and high school girls Bible studies going through the book of 1 Peter! OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD! |It’s that time of year again! Throughout October we are focusing hard on Operation Christmas Child! The shoeboxes we put together aren’t only an exciting gift for the child receiving it, but each box also comes with a Bible in their language and the opportunity for the child to enroll in “The Greatest Journey,” a 12-week discipleship program where the child learns about Jesus and how to follow Him with their lives! Last year over 3.5 MILLION children said “yes” to the opportunity to participate in The Greatest Journey, 2.5 million completed the full 12 weeks, and 1.6 million dedicated their lives to following Jesus!!  Our efforts toward Operation Christmas Child are not for a one-day or one-week thrill of a new toy, but for the life changing knowledge of Jesus Christ and His offer of eternal salvation! You can see exactly what items to bring to fill a shoebox. We will have drop off boxes in the middle school and high school for the specific items.
We will need items collected by Sunday November 5th. That morning, we will have a packing party to fill shoeboxes and get them ready to be sent to a child in need!

SUGAR RUSH | OCTOBER 25th: To make Sugar Rush as EPIC as possible, we need candy. Lots and LOTS of candy! So, between now and October 25th, students can bring in a bag of candy of their choice to share for Sugar Rush! It will definitely be an amazing night full of fun, fellowship, and candy!!!

HIGH SCHOOL RETREAT!!! | This year we will be going to Daytona Beach! We will stay at Country Inn and Suites in Port Orange and have a very similar schedule to last year's, just in a different location! The dates are still November 10-11 but the cost is $85 IF you sign up and pay by October 29th. The cost will go to $100 after that date. There will be a parent meeting November 5th in the high school room right after church!

What an absolute blessing it is to be able to partner with you! You are loved deeply and appreciated. If you have any questions, we’re here for you!

Colossians 1:28-29

Dear parents,

This week, we start a new four-lesson series called “Going Rogue: What Jesus Did When He Got Angry and Frustrated.” This series is important because we as Christ-followers want to model our lives after Jesus. In order to do that, we have to understand why he behaved in certain ways and how he reacted to things that frustrated and disappointed him.

This week’s lesson focuses on Jesus and the cursing of the fig tree in Mark 11. Students will discuss how Jesus used this situation as a living parable of why we need to be living a fruitful life according to God’s plan, instead of looking good on the outside but living life for our own personal gain.

Here are some questions you might want to ask at some point this week, to keep the conversation going:

  • Explain the connection between being faithful and being fruitful.
  • What would it look like for you to live a more faithful life? a more fruitful life?
  • In what ways can you draw closer to Jesus to help you live a more purposeful life?
  • How can we as a family help you lead a more faithful, fruitful life?

Thanks for letting us invest in your teenager’s life. Have a great week!
