We will be wrapping up our short series titled “Wise Choices.” Each week, these two week our students have examined Scripture to discover truths about making wise decisions.
In this second lesson, we will tackle one of life’s most important questions: “Where do I find my identity?” We explored Philippians 3:5-9, where the Apostle Paul calls all his accomplishments (and there were many!) garbage in comparison to knowing Jesus Christ. We took an honest look at how we, in our human way, attempt to find our identity—through such things as relationships, appearance, popularity, and performance.
This week, I encourage you to spend a few minutes talking with your junior higher about our lesson. These questions might help fuel the conversation:
- When are you most tempted to finding your identity through appearance, popularity, or performance?
- How has finding your identity in Jesus helped you experience peace and satisfaction?
- How can we, as a family, challenge each other to find our identities in Jesus?
Thanks for your commitment to our ministry. Have a great week!
