So, how is the year going for everyone so far? I think, as far as Student Ministry goes, it has been spectacular! We have had such a great start to what we know will be an astonishing year because of what God has planned for us!
Our new focus is Vertical Summer Camp! We have our huge fundraiser coming up on May 7th, I know this seems like it is pretty far away but if we don't get started now, we won't be prepared! Please read the details below and start talking to people everywhere you go!

BENEFIT DINNER/TALENT SHOW/SILENT AUCTION AND RAFFLE: May 7th. There are MANY areas where we will need volunteers.
The immediate need is donations of goods, services, sports paraphernalia, etc!
HERE is the letter to use for donation requests!
If you are willing to help with this fundraiser, PLEASE contact me! I'd love to work together! Donations you have secured can be brought to me at the office any day during the week or on any Sunday!
HUGE shout out to Grace Gillis! She has been working hard on donations from businesses all over our area! You rock Grace! I know you are going to have your registration paid in full AGAIN this year! The best thing about Grace is her heart. Last year, even after her donations exceeded her camp registration, she kept bringing them in to help other students pay their way! We love you sweet girl!

VERTICAL STUDENT CAMP: July 23-28 in Odensville, Alabama!
This is our second week in our series titled “Me and the Church.” Normally I share thoughts with you here to prepare you for a discussion with your son or daughter, but instead I’d like to walk you into some awkward questions to wrestle with.
Think about a conversation that made you want to get up and walk away because things started to get awkward. What was the topic? Why did it make you feel so uncomfortable?
Now circle back to your own spiritual journey. Do you tend to dive into the deeper end of your faith, even if the waters look like they might swallow you up? Or do you hang out by the shallow end and splash around, feeling in control of what you believe?
You probably can tell where we’re going this week. In short, there is no topic that we can’t have a fearless conversation about. God can handle everything we turn to Him with, whether it’s something we wonder or something another person is challenging us with. With that said, here are a few questions you can ask your teenager:
- Everyone has an opinion about truth, but what do you think is the difference between opinion and truth? More clearly and to the point, what is truth?
- When was the last time a topic came up that made you feel awkward? How did you handle it?
- What makes us afraid to enter into “fearless conversations” about God?
I’m praying for you! Thanks again for all your prayers for us as we dig into some brave conversations this week!
