Sunday, May 7th

Hello Parents!
This Sunday we will be wrapping up our Sunday morning small group series, “Timothy and Transitions”, and it has been a great time teaching that God has equipped and called them to have influence and leadership in the lives of those around them, and how they can use that to advance the Gospel in the name of Jesus!

ALSO: Tonight we are in week two of our Wednesday night series, SOCIAL. We are going to be discussing the “comparison game” that social media can create in us, and how we often compare our lives to others based on what we see through social media.  Feel free to join us for the series. Our hope and prayer is that students would find their identity in Christ alone.

CURRICULUM NEWS!

Dear parents,

We are wrapping up our series on transitioning from being a follower to a leader. Scripture passages we will be discussing this week included 1 Timothy 6:11-21; 1 Timothy 4:12; and Philippians 3:13. I encourage you to read these great verses, as well.

We will talk about how Jesus entrusts us with insight, wisdom, and experience as His followers. We are to guard those things against people who’d like to tear them away from us. We also should try to avoid foolish discussions; instead, we can point others to Jesus by living a life above reproach. When we follow Paul’s advice to run from evil and pursue righteousness, we not only nurture our own faith but also offer examples to people around us.

This week, try to have a conversation with your teenager—either at home or in the car—about some of these areas:

  • What are some things you believe Jesus has entrusted to you? How well do you think you guard those things, and why?
  • In what ways do you show Jesus to people around you by how you live?
  • During this series, how have you been challenged to step up as a leader?
  • What action can you take in that direction this week? How can I support you in that?

Thanks for your support and prayers. I love working with your teenager every week!
