Hello Parents!

We know it has been a crazy few weeks but we finally have full power on the entire church campus! Our maintenance team and tech team have been working LIKE CHAMPS to get the church up and running! So if you see any of them in the hallway, be sure to give them a pat on the back, or maybe buy them a coffee from our coffee shop, or maybe just say thanks! Normal programming can now continue and we cannot be more excited!

Here is some info to stay connected, and as always, if there is anything we can do for you, just let us know!

HIGH SCHOOL RETREAT!!! | Soooooo....we WERE going to go to Cocoa Beach again this year, but the hotel we booked had water damage due to Irma. But sometimes plan B is better than plan A! So this year we will be going to Daytona Beach! We will stay at Country Inn and Suites in Port Orange and have a very similar schedule to last year's, just in a different location! The dates are still November 10-11 but the cost is $85 IF you sign up and pay by October 29th. The cost will go to $100 after that date. There will be a parent meeting November 5th in the high school room right after church!

What an absolute blessing it is to be able to partner with you! You are loved deeply and appreciated. If you have any questions, we’re here for you!

Colossians 1:28-29

Dear parents,

As we wrapped up our “Servant Leadership” series, we explored 1 John 3, where John encourages us to love one another the way Jesus loves us. We considered whether someone has Jesus’ love in them if they have the ability to help someone but refuse to do so.

We also talked about practical ways we can love others, even when it’s difficult to do so. This is very important because our everyday actions need to match our words about Jesus’ love.

This week, I encourage you to spend a few minutes talking with your teenager about our lesson. Consider building your conversation around these questions:

  • Which of your friends is going through a tough situation and could use some encouragement right now?
  • As a family, what are some ways we can show God’s love to these friends? (Follow up on this.)
  • What’s your favorite way that I show you I love you? (Follow up on this, too!)
  • What message does it send to people when we say we love Jesus but then show hatred or a lack of love through our actions?

Thanks for all your prayers for our students and our ministry. Have a great week!
