TALENT SHOW AND BENEFIT DINNER!! | (April 22 6:00pm-8:00pm) Our 3rd annual Talent Show and Benefit Dinner is coming up quick!! This is a great opportunity for students to raise money for Vertical Student Summer Camp! We will have a silent auction, a dinner with excellent service, and of course amazing student talent! Please consider being a part of this event to help the students raise money! The biggest way you can help is by helping us get businesses to donate goods and services for our silent auction! HERE is a letter that you can print out and hand to any business you visit or have connections with. The ultimate goal is to help students go to Vertical Student Camp so that they can disconnect with the world and connect to an amazing God!!!

What an absolute blessing it is to be able to partner with you! You are loved deeply and appreciated. If you have any questions, we’re here for you!

CURRICULUM

Dear parents,

We are wrapping up our two-lesson series on authority, and this week’s conversation focused on obedience. We will discuss the standard that Jesus set for us and how we can follow His example in our daily lives. We also will talk about how obedience is a process that we learn through practice, time, and surrender. It’s a lifestyle that we as Christ-followers can pursue and nurture.

I encourage you to keep the conversation going with your teenager this week. Talk about some of the ways you are practicing obedience in your own life. Also, if you are willing, share some of the struggles you have had with obedience. Spend some time together talking about how you both can follow the example Jesus has given us. Here are some questions you might want to ask:

  • What does it mean to live a lifestyle of obedience?
  • What are some ways a lifestyle of obedience is different from a lifestyle of disobedience?
  • How is obedience a form of spiritual nourishment? And if obedience is a form of spiritual nourishment, how is disobedience a form of spiritual starvation or deprivation?
  • How does Jesus’ complete obedience encourage you?

I hope this series has been beneficial for you and your teenager!
