WEDNESDAY NIGHT | Tonight we begin our series called "All Day Err Day!" We will spend 5 weeks doing a study in James! James is one of the most practical books in the Bible, especially for teenagers. We will study and provide application points so that students can walk according to God's will! Please be in prayer for these students as we walk through this. The perception from students is that they want to take the path of least resistance, but in reality, we must be doers of the Word. It will take effort on our part to grow closer to God.

HUB KICKOFF!!! | In addition to starting our new series, the cafe will still have pizza but tonight, it's FREE to everyone that comes!! We will also have the OnePoint band joining us! They are called Overflow Worship and they are amazing! We can't wait for our students to see this band's heart for students and ministry in general! If you, as a parent, are curious about the band, please come and check them out!JANUARY 21st | 2018 Family Ministry Parent Meeting in the Life Training Center. This is a great opportunity for students to raise money for Vertical Student Summer Camp! We will have a silent auction, a dinner with excellent service, and of course amazing student talent! Please consider being a part of this event to help the students raise money! The biggest way you can help is by helping us get businesses to donate goods and services for our silent auction! HERE is a letter that you can print out and hand to any business you visit or have connections with. The ultimate goal is to help students go to Vertical Student Camp so that they can disconnect with the world and connect to an amazing God!!!

What an absolute blessing it is to be able to partner with you! You are loved deeply and appreciated. If you have any questions, we’re here for you!

Colossians 1:28-29
Luis and Chad

Dear parents,
We are launching a new series on the topic of culture—lessons that focus on engaging society without being swept away by it. Each week students are diving into conversation and Scripture to unravel wisdom, truth, and encouragement for living a Jesus-centered life in a self-centered world.
In our first lesson, we will read Jesus’ prayer from John 17:13-19, which focuses on protection, wisdom, and purpose. He prayed not that God would take us out of the world but that God would protect us from the evil one. With God’s protection and love, we can be a shining light in our society.
This week, I encourage you to spend a few minutes talking with your teenager about our lesson. Consider building your conversation around these questions:

  • Jesus prayed that God would protect us from the evil one. What’s it like to know that God is actively protecting you from evil?
  • Why do you suppose Jesus would pray that we “not be taken out of the world”?
  • How do people become so comfortable within our culture that Jesus is no longer their top priority? What can we do if we realize that’s happening to us?

Thank you for your commitment to our ministry, as well as your prayers. Have an outstanding week!
