If you have a high school student in our ministry, we hope that you have heard of our High School Retreat, and your student is planning on attending! It is going to be a night full of fun, fellowship, and sure to create life time memories! This year’s High School Retreat looks a little different, and that is why this Sunday after Connect Groups is so important for you! There will be a parent meeting (students are required to attend as well) in the High School room. We will provide you and your student with all the information they need for this event. We are so excited and want you to be as informed as possible!
Love you all tons, and as always please let us know if we can ever be of assistance to you and your students. We are here for you.

We are so excited to be with our Auburndale student ministry and church family tonight! Programming at our Lakeland campus will be canceled so we can all serve and participate in the Fall Festival at Church at Auburndale from 6 to 8 PM. This will be an incredible time to come together as one church and love on the city of Auburndale. Students will be helping with games and passing out candy.
FAMILY NIGHT MEALS
No Family Night Meal tonight. The church will be out at our Auburndale Campus for the Fall Festival.
HIGH SCHOOL RETREAT IS HERE! | November 9th-10th
This year we will partner with Word of Life to be part of an event called Reverb! It will be an all-nighter in Orlando that will consist of an Orlando Magic basketball game, indoor go-karts, archery tag, basketball, volleyball, ice skating and so much more! Word of life will be sharing the Gospel, so it would be a great event for students to invite their unsaved friends! The current registration price is $75. The price for unsaved friends is $30. Register online HERE or at the welcome desk in the student warehouse. The parent meeting is scheduled for November 4th immediately following the 10:45am service. Last opportunity to register!
MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL'S NIGHT EVENT | November 9th-10th
We are so excited about our Middle School Girl’s Night Event. This “Fall in Love with Jesus” all-night event will be filled with games, food, crafts and so much more!! The Middle School Girl Leaders continue to encourage your daughter to build friendships within their youth group and deepen their walk with the Lord, but we need more time to do that~~so what could be better than a fun-filled ALL-GIRLS SLEEPOVER PARTY!! The leaders have some really neat things planned for your daughter to participate in, plus we have a very special guest that will be sharing evening devotions with the girls. The price for this event is $10 to cover food and crafts. Register at the Student Welcome Desk.
We love and care about the families in our ministry so deeply, and our heart is to serve you and your family in the best way we can! If there is anything we can do to help, please feel the freedom to let us know.
Luis and Chad
Our students are continuing a series on apologetics. This week we will examine what an atheistic worldview looks like. We will talk about the challenge of living life without belief in God and how that fails to answer fundamental questions about morality, existence, and the problem of evil. Some that adhere to atheistic teaching would say that the problem of evil proves that there isn’t a God. We will examine this and discuss what it means that God is good and didn’t create this world in the state it is now, that humanity’s sinful behavior has separated us from God, and that only through Christ can we experience reconciliation with God.
Our conversations will also include a discussion of the theory of evolution and how to handle our faith in a culture that seems to accept this theory as absolute truth. We will talk about some of the ways the evolutionary theory falls short and how science and the Bible don’t need to be at odds with one another.
Here are some questions you might want to ask at home this week:
Which takes more faith: believing God exists or believing God doesn’t exist? Why?
How have you experienced or witnessed God using evil or pain for a greater good?
What is the best way to handle the Bible as it relates to science? Why?
How is talking with someone who’s an atheist different from talking to someone who believes in a religion or worldview that says God may exist—or God exists in other forms? What unique challenges might you face?
Thanks for allowing us to partner with you in the discipleship of your teenager. Feel free to contact us if you have any follow-up questions about this week’s conversation, or if you would like any additional resources. Have an awesome week!
