Luis and Chad
This Sunday in Connect Groups we will start a new series titled “Too Good to Be True?” In this series, our students will be exploring what it means to be “good”—and if being good is good enough.
In our first lesson, we will look at Exodus 20:1-17, where God gave Moses specific instructions that we know as the Ten Commandments. People often think that if they follow the rules, they’re considered “good.” Breaking the rules is considered “bad.” God shows us how to live, how to be close to him, and how to be fulfilled. These rules show us how life works best, but only through Jesus can we be saved and have the ability to follow God’s plan.
Take some time this week to talk with your teenager about our group’s conversation. Consider asking these questions:
- Why do some people just seem to have an easier time following the rules?
- How do the rules in the Ten Commandments protect us?
- If we can’t follow God’s instructions and be saved from our sins, what’s the point in trying to follow them at all?
Have an amazing week!
