We are in the third week of our teaching series, Paradox! Tonight we will discuss how to truly be great, Jesus calls us to be the least! Parents are ALWAYS welcome!!!

Whether your students are football fans or not, they will want to come to these parties!

  • Middle school will meet at the church in the Theater from 6:00 to 8:00pm.  We will have pizza, drinks, and games for those who could care less about the game! (Parent note: We will not be showing commercials, instead hilarious and pastor approved YouTube clips!)

  • High school will meet at the Antley's house at 6:00pm.  Address: 2063 High Vista Dr. Lakeland 33813.  We will have a nacho bar, snow cones and a 16-foot movie screen.

ONEPOINT WEEKEND | Feb. 15-17, 2019
It's not too late to sign up for OnePoint Weekend!  Here are a few of the best parts of the weekend to help show the full picture of how important this weekend is:

  • Powerful worship led by guest worship band Nick Thurmond, and engaging teaching of God’s Word by guest preacher Jamie Hammett.

  • Relationship building with other students and a caring adult through small groups (same grade and gender), and fun times staying in a host home!

  • Opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus to our community with mission projects on Saturday afternoon.

  • A weekend away from distractions!

  • Most importantly, a weekend for middle school and high school students to focus on their relationship with Jesus!

The price for the weekend is now $100 (with scholarship help available). Registration is open and you can go HERE  to register online, or come see us at the welcome desk in the student area on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights!

There will be a Parent Meeting for OnePoint on February 10th immediately following the 10:45 service in the High School room.  We recognize there is also a meet and greet scheduled for the new children's pastor at the same time as our meeting.  It is very important for a parent to attend our OnePoint meeting.  If you are unable to attend please let us know ahead of time and we can email you the details.

If you haven’t turned in the 2019 Annual Liability & Medical Release Waiver for your student(s), as well as a copy of your insurance card, please submit as soon as possible.  This will benefit you during OnePoint check-in.  If your student can’t make it to this event they will need it for all future events this year.

Great news!  Our Mexico trip is full and the team is set!  Please be in prayer for our group as they prepare for ministry over Spring Break. Our next meeting is scheduled for Sunday, February 24th in the High School Room after the 10:45am service.

This Sunday we will begin a series on Apologetics.  Gordon Sun will teach our seniors how to defend their faith as they make plans to venture out into the real world after graduation.

Heartland Church in Winter Haven is hosting this free event.  The Unaltered Tour defines God's original design for love, sex, and life, and will challenge students to live with integrity and influence. We aren't attending as a student ministry but wanted you to have the opportunity to take your student. If you are interested, check out their brochure.  Register here!

If you are interested in receiving event announcements via text message, just text the phrase mallstudents to the phone number 89800.

We love and care about the families in our ministry so deeply, and our heart is to serve you and your family in the best way we can! If there is anything we can do to help, please feel the freedom to let us know.

Colossians 1:28-29

Dear Parents,

Hello again! We’re already on week four of our study of the big-picture story of the Bible called The Thread.  This week we'll learn about Noah and God’s covenant promises.
The lesson is entitled “The Faith of Noah and God’s Hatred of Sin” and it will focus on helping students understand the depth of the story of Noah. In God’s covenant with Noah, we will see a measure of grace and forgiveness. After all, God allowed humankind a second chance even though He certainly knew that we would be a sinful people still. This is a foreshadowing of the perfect covenant that Christ would usher in, a covenant that once and for all provided perfect forgiveness of our sins.
We will look at the following Scripture passages:

  • Genesis 6:9-22

  • Genesis 7:11-24

  • Genesis 8:13-19

  • Genesis 9:8-17

  • Matthew 26:26-29

You’ll enjoy reading these powerful passages that show us the power of God’s covenant faithfulness.
Next Steps . . .
During the next week as you have time to talk with your child, consider asking the following questions:

  • You talked a lot about what a covenant is this week. What was the difference between the covenant God made with Noah and the one that Jesus made with us?

  • How does Jesus confirming His covenant with us through His sacrifice on the cross make you feel? (As a parent, share what it means for you to belong to the Lord.)

  • How do we see Noah’s life changed through the covenant God made with Him? How would your life be changed if God did the same thing for you?

Thank you for all that you do. If you have any questions about anything, please don’t hesitate to call us.
