Hello Parents!

This coming Sunday is the Super Bowl! Which means we have an excuse to have a PARTY! We will have both Middle School and High School parties!!!  And don’t worry, if your student isn't a diehard fan of either team, or could care less about football in general, that's OKAY! Every student who comes will have a great time hanging out and spending time in community laughing, eating, and having fun! Please see details below!

Love you all tons, and as always please let us know if we can ever be of assistance to you and your students. We are here for you.

These are the big events that are coming up in our student ministry!
Please go to for more information!

We are in the fourth week of our teaching series, Paradox! Tonight we will discuss how even in the middle of trials, we can rejoice! Parents are ALWAYS welcome!!!

Whether your students are football fans or not, they will want to come to these parties!

  • Middle school will meet at the church in the Theater from 6:00 to 8:00pm.  We will have pizza, drinks, hilarious YouTube Videos, and board/card games for those who could care less about the football game! (Parents’ note: We will not be showing commercials, instead we will show pastor approved YouTube clips!)

  • High school will meet at the Antley's house at 6:00pm.  Address: 2063 High Vista Dr. Lakeland 33813.  We will have a nacho bar, snow cones, and a 16-foot movie screen.

ONEPOINT WEEKEND | Feb. 15-17, 2019
It's not too late to sign up for OnePoint Weekend!  Here are a few of the best parts of the weekend to help show the full picture of how important this weekend is:

  • Powerful worship led by guest worship band Nick Thurmond, and engaging teaching of God’s Word by guest preacher Jamie Hammett.

  • Relationship building with other students and a caring adult through small groups (same grade and gender), and fun times staying in a host home!

  • Opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus to our community with mission projects on Saturday afternoon.

  • A weekend away from distractions!

  • Most importantly, a weekend for middle school and high school students to focus on their relationship with Jesus!

The price for the weekend is now $100 (with scholarship help available). Registration is open and you can go HERE to register online, or come see us at the welcome desk in the student area on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights!

There will be a Parent Meeting for OnePoint on February 10th immediately following the 10:45 service in the High School room.  We recognize there is also a meet and greet scheduled for the new children's pastor at the same time as our meeting.  It is very important for a parent to attend our OnePoint meeting.  If you are unable to attend please let us know ahead of time and we can email you the details.

If you haven’t turned in the 2019 Annual Liability & Medical Release Waiver for your student(s), as well as a copy of your insurance card, please submit as soon as possible.  This will benefit you during the OnePoint Parent Meeting and check-in.  If your student can’t make it to this event they will need it for all future events this year.

Great news!  Our Mexico trip is full and the team is set!  Please be in prayer for our group as they prepare for ministry over Spring Break. Our next meeting is scheduled for Sunday, February 24th in the High School Room after the 10:45am service.

We started a series on Apologetics.  Gordon Sun did an excellent job last week teaching our seniors how to defend their faith as they make plans to venture out into the real world after graduation.

Heartland Church in Winter Haven is hosting this free event.  The Unaltered Tour defines God's original design for love, sex, and life, and will challenge students to live with integrity and influence. We aren't attending as a student ministry but wanted you to have the opportunity to take your student. If you are interested, check out their brochure.  Register here!

If you are interested in receiving event announcements via text message, just text the phrase mallstudents to the phone number 89800.

We love and care about the families in our ministry so deeply, and our heart is to serve you and your family in the best way we can! If there is anything we can do to help, please feel the freedom to let us know.

Colossians 1:28-29

Dear Parents,

Hello again! Our group is still marching through the big-picture story of the Bible, and loving every lesson.  This week, the lesson is about, “Abraham and the Birth of a People.” The lesson is all about how God chose Abraham to be the father of His special people, and how, through faith in Jesus, we are adopted into God’s family.

We will look at the following Scripture passages:

  • Genesis 12:1-5a

  • Genesis 15

  • Genesis 21:1-7

  • Galatians 3:25-29

I encourage you to read the passages, so you can clearly see the connection between what God did through Abraham to establish His own people, and what God has done through Jesus to bring more people into His family.
Next Steps . . .
During the next week as you have time to talk with your student, consider asking the following questions:

  • In your lesson this week you discussed God’s faithfulness to His promises. What difference does it make to know that we can trust God to do what He has promised?

  • What does it mean that we’ve been adopted into God’s family? How does that make you feel?

  • Why do you think God chose to adopt us into His family?

We love partnering with you to disciple your teenager. Let us know if you have any questions about what we studied, or if we can help you in any way.
