Hello Parents!

Our annual Parent Meeting is this Sunday! We will meet right after the 10:45am service in the High School Room. We will look at what 2019 holds for us as a student ministry as we look at scheduled events, address special topics that pertain to student ministry today, and make sure you have all the correct forms completed for this year, so your student can be a part of what we have planned. This is a very important meeting, so please make plans to attend.

Love you all tons, and as always please let us know if we can ever be of assistance to you and your students. We are here for you.

We will be partnering with the MITC (Mexican Indian Training Center) in Cordoba, Mexico. The MITC has been established since the 1950s. It is a school that trains and equips Mexican college students to lead and teach the Gospel in the churches that are spread throughout Mexico. We will be ministering to different churches by painting, doing construction, building pews, planning and executing backyard Bible clubs for kids, and much more. We will also be visiting orphanages to help feed and share the Gospel with the kids. We will take a trip to the mountains to minister to churches in different villages. Our lodging will be on campus with bunk style dorms and is extremely safe. This is an incredible opportunity for any student that goes! For more information, please reach out to Luis Ruiz at!

We love and care about the families in our ministry so deeply, and our heart is to serve you and your family in the best way we can! If there is anything we can do to help, please feel the freedom to let us know.

Colossians 1:28-29

Dear Parents,

Hello! We wanted to remind you about the study we’re doing on teaching our students the big-picture story of the Bible. It’s a 52-week Bible study called The Thread, and this week is lesson 2. The lesson is entitled “Creation And The Creation Of Man and Woman.” In this lesson, we will help students learn the unique role humans have in the overall story of God’s creation and help them understand Jesus’ role in creation. Your teenager will be challenged to grasp the great value he or she has as a person created specifically by God.
We will look at the following Scripture passages:

  • Genesis 1-Genesis 2:3

  • John 1:1-5

It would be great if you could find some time today or tomorrow to take a few minutes and read these passages.
Next Steps . . .
During the next week as you have time to talk with your teenager, remember that one way that will help them understand and apply what they learn is to talk about it with someone else. Use the following questions to guide your conversation:

  • How should it make us feel that God could have very easily created a world without you or me in it? What does it say about our lives that God wanted us to be a part of His creation?

  • Is there work we need to do as a family to be better stewards of God’s creation? What can we do to become better at seeing value in all of God’s creation (including other people)?

Thank you for all you that you do. If you have any questions about anything, please don’t hesitate to call me.
