WEDNESDAY NIGHT | Middle School and High School Specific Series
Tonight is our last week for our Middle School and High School specific series! Each ministry will hit on important topics that are appropriate and necessary for their stage of life. It will be an awesome time!  Feel free to join us!  We will have two more Wednesday nights of Student programming before we enter into our Summer programming.

IT ISN'T TOO LATE TO SIGN UP!! This will be a competitive and fun student fundraiser, including a raffle and dessert auction, on Sunday, May 19th after the 10:45am service!  All proceeds will go to our Student Ministry.  Both students and adults are welcome to compete!  Some of our students will be working this fundraiser as well. Team cost is $40/per team. Lunch will be provided for $5/per person or $20/per family.  Registration is available at the Student Welcome Desk or you can register online HERE

WE NEED YOU!!  Are you willing or do you know someone willing to donate goods or services for our Cornhole Raffle?  Please email information to by Wednesday, May 15th.

Also, if you would like to volunteer we need assistance. Please notify Bonnie at if you can help.

We will suspend our “Thread” Sunday Curriculum for six weeks to go through “The Treasure Principle” as a church family during our Sunday morning connect groups.

We will be taking our middle schoolers back to Miami again! Last year was such a powerful trip, and we are expecting God to use our middle schoolers in powerful ways again! Mark your calendars! And check this out! The cost is $100, and for every student that goes on this trip, they will receive a $50 discount on Vertical Student Camp! Registration is now open! Stop by the Welcome Desk in the Student Area to register!

We are heading back to Springville this summer for camp.  The price for camp is now $325 through 6/2.  The price will increase to $350 on 6/3.  Registration is open online HERE or pick-up a registration card at the Student Welcome Desk.  We desire for our students’ lost friends to come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord, so we are offering a free trip to camp for friends of our students who do not attend church.

Colossians 1:28-29

Dear Parents,

Hello again! We are on our 16th lesson in the “Thread,” our year-long look at the big-picture story of the Bible, and how we see the Gospel interwoven along the way. This week’s lesson is learning how Israel traded God for an earthly king.

The lesson is entitled “Saul and the Need for A King,” and it will focus on helping students see the picture of how Israel asked for a king. This is a perfect example in our own lives of how we can look to the world instead of allowing the Lord to change our thoughts. In Romans, we are commanded to be different, and not allow the world to be our primary focus. Still, we will see that God knows we need His help. If we turn to Him, He will transform our thoughts. This is how we can know how to best follow Him. Our God isn’t a King that merely wants to dictate His rule; He longs for us to be in a deep relationship with Him.

We will look at the following Scripture passages:

  • 1 Samuel 8:1-9, 1 Samuel 10:17-24

  • Romans 12:1-2

You’ll enjoy reading these powerful passages that show us the power of God as our King.
Next Steps . . .
During the week set aside a few moments to discuss these questions with your teenager:

  • What did you think of the fact that Israel traded God as King for Saul as king?

  • Why do you think God “gave in” and let the people have what they wanted, even though it wasn’t what He wanted?

  • I sometimes can struggle with wanting to do what the world wants. (Tell your child some ways it can be hard for you too.)  This is how I turn myself over to the Lord. (Tell of some ways you let God have control.) Would you want to share some ways you struggle too? What do you think we could do to hold each other accountable?

Thank you for all you do. If you have any questions about anything, please don’t hesitate to call us.
